Canal Connection 10K

Date & Time:  Hope to see you at the 2010 Canal Connection
                               Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM

Distance: 6.2 miles (10K).  USATF certification pending  Course map

Fees:  $23 Prior to 11/04, $25 Then & After thru Race Day.
$1 Discount for members of SRRL, LRC, IVS, SRRC. Online: $23 Prior to 11/06, $22 if member of SRRL, LRC, IVS, or SRRC.
       
Course: Point to point course. Runners will enter the I&M Canal Towpath and run approx. 4.2 miles on a flat, unpaved surface (crushed limestone). Race finishes on a paved street near the elementary school in Utica, IL. Split times at each mile along the course. Water stations along the course.
Note: No bandits, dogs, wheeled vehicles or headsets allowed on the course.
Race Circuit: The 2010 Canal Connection is part of the 2010 race circuits of: Starved Rock Runners Ltd, Lake Run Club, Illinois Valley Striders, and Springfield Road Runners.

Race Day Registration: Registration and packet pick-up at elementary school in Utica, IL from 8:15 am to 10:30 am the day of race.  All runners must register/check-in at school in Utica. School is located at 248 W. Canal Street, Utica, IL.

Transportation to start: Busses will begin to leave Utica at 9:00 am to transport runners to the starting line in LaSalle, IL near the west end of the I&M Canal Towpath.  Last bus leaves for LaSalle at approx. 10:15 AM.

Gear Check: A “gear bag” will be provided and may be used to secure your possessions for transportation back to the finish line. Gear will be checked according to bib number and available for pick up at the school in Utica. Please make sure your bib number is written on the outside of the bag.  Starved Rock Runners, Ltd is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Please do not check anything of value.

Shirts: Sweatshirts to all paid entrants.

Refreshments:   Available after the race.
 
Awards: First 5 overall male and female finishers, top male and female masters and 5 year age groups.
