The Liberty 5k, hosted by Grundy County Farm Bureau Foundation & Morris Downtown Development Partnership will be held under the tent on the corner of Jefferson St. & Liberty St. or 402 Liberty St., in downtown Morris, IL 60450. The completely paved, mainly flat with some slight hills race course starts on Jefferson St. The event has a post race party, local fireworks and is sponsored by City Beverage & Ebbey's Sports Bar & Grill. Benefits Operation MOM's Cookies & local military men, women, & Veterans. The Red Eye is an all-night 100 Mile, 21 Legs, relay running event that starts and finishes at the Upland Brewing Co. (350 W. 11th St., Bloomington, Indiana). Event starts July 21, 2012 at 7pm and ends July 22, 2012 at 7am. You choose your team size (2-7 runners) to complete the 100 mile course. You can register three different team sizes: the Open Team (5-7 runners) is $385.00, the Ultra Team (3-4 runners) is $220.00, and the Superhuman (2 racers) is $110.00. A portion of the proceeds will go to support a great local cause, the Enis Furley Foundation. Start when you decide on Saturday afternoon in order to finish Sunday morning between 6:00 and 9:00 am. USATF-certified seven-mile course starts
and finishes in Davenport, IA. The finish line is at 3rd
and Iowa Streets, where the Bix 7 Post Race Party
will be held. The course includes two severe hills, one at the start. Water is available at seven stations
along the course and at the finish line. Showers are available at the Davenport Family Y, 606 W. 2nd St.
Towels provided, cost $5.00. No race day registration or changes. Last chance to register is in person at the River Center, 136 East Third St., Friday, July 27th.
