Event Description: Starved Rock Runners Circuit Race. The 4 Mile course is primarily a flat figure "8" course with two small hills. The course will start & finish by the Kewanee YMCA, 315 West First Street. Water and splits will be provided. Digital clock at the finish. Dressing and shower facilities will be provided by the Kewanee YMCA until 12:00 noon. Bring your own towel. Fruit, cookies, All Sport, and Pepsi for all participants. The course heads north along Madison St., joining up with a paved recreational running/bike path that follows along the banks of the Rock River. Event Name: Tails to Trails 5K Fun Run/Walk with your dog
Event Description: This event is a fund raiser for the Peoria Humane Society to benefit the animal at PAWS and is being put on by Midwest Races. It is a 5K fun-run/walk-with-your-dog on the trails of the Farmdale Reservoir. The event will start in waves to allow groups to thin out and avoid congestion. The trail will start off wide for the first mile and a half and then get narrow (single file) for a roughly a half mile before widening again for the remainder of the course. There will be several creek crossings during the race. You cannot avoid the creeks....the creeks are wide and may be knee deep! you and your dog will get wet! Enjoy it! (you can carry your dog across but you do so at your own risk). There are a few portions where the race will double back over itself so please use caution and common courtesy if you encounter oncoming participants. Event Name: JPA 5K Run/Walk
Event Description: The 2nd Annual JPA 5K will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 6:15pm. Event day registration will be available from 4:30pm to 6:15pm. Registration fees are $35 in advance and $40 the day of the race. The event will be held in Arvey Field which is at the south end of Grant Park with the closest intersection at Roosevelt Road and Columbus Drive. The 5K race will be followed by a post race celebration with a local band. The Juvenile Protective Association (JPA) is a private non-profit agency devoted to protecting children, healing the scars of abuse and neglect, and repairing families. We provide intervention and treatment to break the intergenerational cycle in families that abuse or neglect their children.
